In 2025, we are challenging ourselves again with Some Days Some Arts, Playground Edition. Ready to step forward with our project, 2025 is bringing some new changes and updates. Finally in Calcinaia for longer, our team can raise the bar another notch, and enjoy the thrill of adventuring outside of our comfort zone.

Workshop
PAINT MAKING FROM ORGANIC MATERIALS/Colori e pittura con materiali organici
In this workshop, hosted by Milou, we’re going to make paint from natural ingredients like grass, leaves, flowers, mud, sand, etc. Together, we will make paint out of the color in these materials by mixing it with binders such as oil, and use it on the environment around us (or each other!)
This way, we will use our surroundings both as material and canvas.
BETWEEN THE LINES/Tra le righe
Bookmaking is not as difficult as you think! Robin will show you creative ways of approaching this craft, alongside some traditional ones. In this workshop, you will think about what a book could look like and how you can play around with the dimensions, looks, and shape of a book, and how to read it.
The goal of this workshop is to experiment with out-of-the-box ideas to make bookmaking easy and fun.
ATTERN MAKING II: ENDURANCE/ Pattern II: Resistenza
already be familiar with Andrew’s passion for patterns, and if you are not, they will be happy to fill you in on the basics of pattern making. But this time, we will be drawing our designs rather than printing them, exploring the meditative aspect of craftsmanship.

HOW TO PRETEND YOU ARE DOING SOMETHING ELSE (an approach to making)/ Come fingere di fare qualcos’altro
Sasha, who has successfully conjured our inner clowns in the last edition of SDSA, will guide us through a new way of making by playing pretend and letting go of seriousness. Ever wanted to try a different career? This is your chance. At the end of the workshop, we all have the opportunity to share our CVs with each other.
MAP MAKING/Cartografia
In this workshop, we will tackle the basic principles of map-making and use them to explore a variety of themes and mediums. Sietse will guide us in an exploration of our surroundings and, throughout the process, show us the impact that our perception of them has on the maps we make.
POINT OF INDIFFERENCE (P.O.I.)/ Punto di indifferenza
During this workshop, hosted by Thijs, we’re going to go on a guided tour around the industrial part of Siena, passing by car rentals, businesses, companies, hotels, which fuel the touristic economy of this city. During this tour, photos are taken of the scenery to later be developed into postcards. Before diving into the location, we will start at the farm by researching themes, coloring, and camera angles of typical postcards.
