Some Days Some Arts
Some Days Some Arts is our summer festival, taking place in Calcinaia, our organic farm in the heart of Tuscany. Started in 2022, Some Days Some Arts is an occasion to horizontally exchange creative knowledge through workshops and spontaneous group activities. For two weeks over the summer, a group of creatives meets and lives together, sharing facilities, food, and experiences. In the Italian summer heat, we encourage you to blur the lines between art and craft, push your creative boundaries, make new friends, and experience the joy of a community focused on creating beauty and connections. Each summer, the workshops change, making for unique moments of learning.

The food
At SDSA, we -really- care about our food. With your stay, and the workshops, you will also get three joyfully prepared meals a day. Together with our team of volunteers, we cook everything in-house, and care to create balanced and tasty feasts for our guests. Our meals are -vegan- and mostly -locally sourced-. We get our produce from the garden, our pulses, and flours from neighbouring farms, and bake fresh sourdough goods daily. For a refreshing break, we go to the village’s gelateria for some delicious ice-cream, which helps us with the hot summer days. In the village, you can also find supermarkets to buy the extra treat you need. But do not worry, we always have enough food, it’s Italy, after all!

The stay
At Podere Calcinaia, we have rooms that our festival guests can share, as well as plenty of outdoor space to set up tents if you prefer the fresh night air, and the privacy. Our farmstay is made up of five bedrooms, and two kitchens, as well as a spacious “dance” room, with wooden floors and plenty of natural light. Our guests have access to the entire farm, and can find many a places of peace and quiet inside and outside, to take a little break from the crowd.
Arrivals and departures
As we are in a remote location, we offer pick ups and drop offs from and to the nearest train station of Castelnuovo Scalo. To get there, you simply take a short train from the Siena train station.
